WINDOWS XP LIVE CD ISO INSTALL
Sure, I can take another SATA drive, disconnect the existing drive, install Windows on it, then finally be able to do the BIOS update I need but its a real pain doing all that and I would LOVE to just build a bootable live Windows drive that'll work via USB and can be modified (written to) while being used so I can install Dells damn BIOS updater. I even called Dell support a few months ago when I encountered this the 1st time and they confirmed there is no other way to update the BIOS other than from within Windows. Problem is, I have this Dell Optiplex 990 I run my XenServer lab on for testing around and playing with issues and Dell ONLY offers BIOS updates for this system from within Windows. It's easy enough to make a Linux "live" bootable USB flash drive or even an external USB hard drive that's bootable but it would appear that doing the same with Windows is not as simple.
